CSA ATHLETE REPRESENTATION
Paul Medhurst (AFL)
About:
A career-best season saw Medhurst win his first All-Australian selection, the only player to receive the honour at the club. In his second season at Collingwood, the small forward was exceptionally consistent across the season playing in every game. His game against Essendon on Anzac Day won him the Anzac Medal after booting six majors. In round 12’s loss against Carlon, Medhurst had 18 kicks, 11 marks and kicked four goals. He averaged career-best numbers in disposals (16) marks (8) and tackles (2). He kicked a team-high 50 goals for the season and was first at the club in total marks (179) and third in kicks (309). He finished second in the club’s best and fairest and will have a massive role in Collingwood’s 2009 success.
